Sir William Gallagher Cyber Security Scholarship, 2017 is open to students enrolling into Master of Cyber Security (MCS) program at the University of Waikato.
Eligibility criteria:
- New Zealand citizens and permanent residents are eligible for Sir William Gallagher Cyber Security Scholarship, 2017.
- Interested applicants must be accepted and enrolled at the University of Waikato in a full-time Maters degree.
- Applicants of Sir William Gallagher Cyber Security Scholarship, 2017 must be enrolled in either COMP592 (60 points), COMP593 (90 points) or COMP594 (120 points),
- They must take on an industry-based research project with Gallagher.
- Applicants will gain work experience with Gallagher during the research project.
- Paid employment will be discussed at the time of selection.
Selection Criteria:
- Scholarships are granted based on applicant’s academic merit.
- Applicants selection relies on the four best papers (300 level or above).
- Papers must be relevant to the area of specialization proposed for the MCS degree.
- Applicants interest in the Cyber Security is assessed.
- Applicants ability to be Innovative, entrepreneurship (previous initiatives and project work) and career aspirations are gauged.

- Applicants must include their academic transcripts.
- A personal statement in one page must be submitted.
- Academic reference should be provided.
