International Merit Undergraduate Scholarships- Sheffield University: International Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2017 for International Students at University of Sheffield, UK

The International Merit Undergraduate Scholarship under the University of Sheffield Scholarship is open to all international undergraduate students starting their studies in September 2017.

Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate program

 Study Subject: Scholarships are given for studying the subjects that are offered by the university.

International Merit Undergraduate Scholarships (China, India, Latin America): Merit Undergraduate Scholarships are worth 50% of the annual undergraduate tuition fee.

 Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a national of or permanently domiciled in one of the following:

  • China, India and
  • Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Mexico, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela
  • Applying for the scholarship is a separate online process. A link to the online scholarship application will be sent by email to all eligible students.
  • Applicants must apply for a study place for entry in September 2017, by Friday 16 June 2017 to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • The scholarship will not be available to applicants who have made the University of Sheffield their insurance choice.
  • The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit and the supporting statement. However, the final decision will be made by an academic panel.
  • The applicant can receive the scholarship in each subsequent year of study, subject to achieving 60% or above in the previous academic year. However, the scholarship is guaranteed in the 1st year of study.
  • This excludes any years in industry or study abroad periods. This applies to all undergraduate programs except Medicine and Dentistry. Students of Medicine and Dentistry will receive the scholarship only for the non-clinical years (first and second Medicine years and Dentistry year 1)
  • This scholarship can be combined with other University of Sheffield scholarships as long as the individual does not become fully funded with respect to  tuition fee, as a result of the sum of these awards.
  • The scholarships would provide a reduction in tuition fee only.
  • The applicant must be self-funding and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
  • The scholarship will not be awarded where funding is applicable from an external *Government or governmental organization body and there is an agreement already in place between the external body and the University of Sheffield to offer a tuition fee discount to the student.
  • The scholarships are for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for the scholarships.
  • Part-time students will receive the full value of a one year of scholarship split on pro rata basis over the duration of an equivalent single full-time academic year.

* Government or governmental organization – international, national or regional; research council; charity; private enterprise; or any similar organization.

Admission Requirement:

  • Entrance Requirement: Individual course entry requirements can be checked in the online undergraduate prospectus.
  • English Language Requirement: Students must have a grade C or above in English in GCSE English Language or an acceptable English language qualification.

How to Apply: All applications for undergraduate courses should be submitted via the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). There is no campus code.

 Application Deadline:

  • The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday 23 June 2017.
  • Scholarship results will be announced Friday 28 July 2017.
