PhD Scholarships for ASEAN Students in Thailand

The International College of Thaksin University, Thailand is inviting researchers from ASEAN countries to enrol in its PhD in Sustainable Development. Scholarships will cover tuition and assistantship of 425US$/15,000baht per month for 3 months.

Thaksin University is a public university in Southern Thailand. It is located in Amphoe Muang Songkhla, Songkhla Province. It is about twenty kilometres from Hat Yai District.

English language, for persons whose approved prior qualifications were not undertaken in English in an English-speaking environment, will be considered on the basis of tests including CULT, IELTS and TOEFL or by interview, by native English-speaking academics of the program.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Sustainable Development.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover tuition and assistantship of 425US$/15,000baht per month for 3 months. Further, a research grant of 1,7005US$/60,000baht will be provided to the thesis supervisor in support of the research of the student.

Number of Scholarships: There are three scholarships available.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the PhD scholarships, the applicant must:

  • Be a citizen of an ASEAN country
  • Not be more than 45 years of age at the application
  • Have obtained a master degree or have completed any relevant studies, with no than a CGPA OF 3.5 or equivalent

Nationality: Scholarships are available for ASEAN students.

List of Countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Candidates will have appropriate degrees or demonstrate equivalence from professional experience. Coursework may be assigned in research skills, reference library use, ethics, plagiarism, intellectual property and writing.

Test Requirement: No

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online. A full application will include: resume of academic and professional experience; recent photograph; a copy of the details pages of passport/identification; academic transcripts; graduation certificates; two written academic references; English language test results; two page indicative research proposal; and declaration that all supplied information is accurate and that tuition fees can be guaranteed.
