A PhD Position is available in Bird Ecology at the Department of Zoology and Laboratory of Ornithology Faculty of Science, Palacky University. PhD student will join a team working on the research project entitled ‘The use of RFID technology for monitoring of cavity-breeding birds’.
Palacký University, Olomouc is the oldest university in Moravia and the second-oldest in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1573 as a public university led by the Jesuit order in Olomouc, which was at that time the capital of Moravia and the seat of the episcopacy.
Course Level: Position is available for pursuing PhD programme.

Scholarship Award: ca 950 euro per month
Scholarship can be taken in the Czech Republic
Eligibility: Applicants must have master’s degree.
Nationality: Students from North America and Europe are eligible to apply.
College Admission Requirement: 25 euro. Then tuition fee 4000 euro per year
Entrance Requirement:
- MSc in Biology, with a specialization in Animal Ecology or Zoology
- Proficient knowledge of English (ability to write scientific papers, B2 or higher)
- Experience with data analyses
- Experience with the work on the birds in the field will be an advantage
