Eligibility criteria:

Any prior studies in research and coursework should be evident in this section. We may need to contact your institution for information on your progress if sufficient documentation is not provided. For each of your Academic Qualifications you need to provide the following:

  • A complete and official academic transcript showing the subjects studied, the marks obtained, including any fails and subsequent re-sits. Note: unofficial transcripts from institution websites will not be accepted;
  • An explanation/ extract of the universities grading system
  • If you have completed and been awarded the qualification you will need to provide proof of completion.
  • If applicable, indicate the research component of the qualification. For example, if you undertook a research project of 12 credit points in a 48 credit point degree, your % component of research would be 25%.
  • If any of your documents are not in English you must provide an official translation as well as the original language documents.

  • Other equivalent tests such as the TOEFL or PTE are also accepted and other qualifications and experience may also be considered.
  • Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange students are only required to meet a program’s overall score requirement (e.g. 6.5 IELTS or 87 TOEFL or 64 PTE).

Applications are invited for Avondale President’s Scholarship for 2018. It is awarded to students from selected secondary schools throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Avondale College of Higher Education is a not-for-profit private higher education provider established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1897. Its mission is to foster a Christian learning community dedicated to serving world needs.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing an undergraduate degree or an Outdoor Recreation Vocational Education and Training (VET) course.

Scholarship Award: The Avondale President’s Scholarship is worth up to $8,000 in total. It is worth $3,000 in the first year of study ($1,500 per semester) in an undergraduate degree or an Outdoor Recreation Vocational Education and Training (VET) course, $2,000 ($1,000 per semester) in the second year and $1,500 per year ($750 per semester) for the third and (where relevant) fourth year of a degree course. The scholarship is granted for a maximum of four years. Recipients receive a certificate, letter of congratulation and $100 cash prize.

  • The successful recipient will be announced at the school’s Presentation/Awards/Speech Night. A representative from Avondale will present the recipient with a certificate, $100 cash prize and a letter of congratulation from the President of Avondale.

Westpac Bicentennial Foundation is offering Westpac Research Fellowships, 2017 to early career researchers whose work has the ability to make a difference in one of the focus areas of the Foundation.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The fellowships are open to Australian nationals or permanent residents.
  • Applicants of Westpac Research Fellowships, 2017 must demonstrate academic excellence and achievements to date.
  • Must have a strong sense of connection to Australia.
  • The proposed research area must belong to a research field of one of the participating universities with a rating of “well above world standing”.
  • Candidates must showcase how their proposed research contributes to the growth and prosperity of Australia in at least one of the Foundation’s focus areas.
  • Applicants must commence their research by 30 June 2018.
  • Must have been awarded a Ph.D. between 1 September 2011 and 1 September 2014 or have an Eligibility Exemption from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) or equivalent in case their doctorate was awarded before 1 September 2011.
