Scholarship Award: The scholarships have the duration of the PhD Course of interest and are awarded for the 1st Year and confirmed on a yearly basis for admission to the subsequent year subject to the decision by the Teaching Board of the individual programmes. The annual amount of the scholarship is € 13.638,47, including National Social Security Contributions (INPS). This amount is exempt from the IRPEF tax and it is subject to the payment of National Social Security contribution (INPS “gestione separata”), of which two-thirds are paid by the administration and one-third by the PhD student.

  • Similar academic qualification obtained abroad, issued by an Academic Institution officially recognized that gives the admission to the PhD Programme in the foreign Country, just declared to be equivalent by the Italian authorities or recognized as comparable by the Admission Committee to the Italian qualification in terms of duration and content and deemed eligible for the purposes of taking part in the competition.
  • Individuals who have not obtained their qualification by the announcement deadline but who will obtain it by 30th September may also take part in the selection process.

IED – Istituto Europeo di Design and Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli – IED Como is now accepting applications for up to 74 scholarships covering 50% of the tuition fees for 2017/2018 Master courses held in Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence, Venice, Cagliari, Como (Accademia Aldo Galli), Madrid and Barcelona.

For more than fifty years, the Istituto Europeo di Design has been operating in the fields of education and research in the disciplines of design, fashion, visual communication and management. Today, the IED is a constantly expanding international network that issues first-level academic diplomas and organises three-year courses, Masters Courses, continuous professional development and advanced training courses.

Master Scholarships

How to Apply: In order to apply for the Contest, participants are required to develop a project concept that’s relevant to one’s own specific Master course of interest, following the guidelines described in each single Brief.

To participate in IED Master Scholarships students are demanded to get registered and upload required documents not later than September 20th 2017, h 23:59 – for November and January intakes – and November 15 2017, h 23:59 – for February and March intakes (GMT+1 – Italian time).

Step 4. To participate in the Contest students need to develop a concept, connected to the area of interest, following the recommendations indicated in each single Brief.

Scholarships’ winners have 3 days to confirm their acceptance and 5 days to complete your application to the Master course of your choice.

In order to be considered eligible, each Candidate will be asked to provide:

  • Motivation letter in the language of the chosen course.
  • Copy of passport.
  • Internationally recognized (e.g. IELTS) certificate of knowledge of the language in which the course is taught, if different from the mother tongue (alternatively it is possible to hold an interview through skype). The minimum level requested for the application is B2.
  • Concept as described in the Brief.

Five fully-funded PhD student positions are now available at the University of Milano-Bicocca to pursue Doctoral Program in Analysis of Social and Economic Processes. Candidates of all nationalities are eligible to apply for these positions.

The ASEP Doctoral Program aims at training students for both scholarly and applied social research.

The University of Milano-Bicocca was founded on June 10, 1998. Located in the Northern part of Milano, Italy, the University campus is built as a cultural district in a postindustrial area (the largest in Europe), where the factory Pirelli previously produced tires and 25,000 workers were employed. Today, the same grounds host around 35,000 students. The University of Milano-Bicocca is a multi-disciplinary university that trains professionals in various fields of both the natural and the social sciences.

Course Level: Positions are available to pursue PhD programme.

Study Subject: Positions are awarded in Analysis of Social and Economic Processes (ASEP) of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy).

Scholarship Award: All students admitted to the ASEP Doctoral Program receive a University scholarship of € 16,238.47 per year, gross of social security contributions. The amount of the scholarship is increased by 50% for any period of study or research abroad of at least 30 consecutive days, for a maximum of 18 months. Also, during the second and third years of the program, students may apply for a University research allowance equal to 10% of the amount of the scholarship per year. In addition to University funding, students can access special purpose grants provided by the Department of Sociology and Social Research. Specifically, students may apply for a yearly allowance of up to € 1,200 to cover travel expenses and conference fees, and a one-time allowance of up to € 2,000 to cover expenses related to summer school participation.

  • The ASEP Doctoral Program welcomes applications for admission from highly motivated candidates with a solid social science background and a strong interest in empirical research. Candidates should hold an Italian Laurea Magistrale or any equivalent foreign degree. Candidates who expect to obtain the required degree by October 31, 2017 are also eligible to apply for admission; accepted candidates who fail to meet this requirement, however, will lose their right to admission. Candidates are expected to be fluent in spoken and written English, which is the official language of the ASEP Doctoral Program.
