The University of Auckland is offering Auckland Summer Scholarships, 2017 to students who wish to conduct sample research before taking up a postgraduate study.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants of Auckland Summer Scholarships, 2017 must have completed at least 2 years of their undergraduate degree and satisfy one of the following criteria:
  • be enrolled in an undergraduate degree at a New Zealand University at the time of application or an international university in 2017.
  • be enrolled in postgraduate Bachelor (honors) or postgraduate diploma program at a university in New Zealand at the time of application.
  • Candidates applying for Auckland Summer Scholarships, 2017 must have a GPA/GPE of at least 6.00(5.50 for Māori or Pacific students).
  • Applicants must have identified a project and a supervisor willing to guide the project.
  • Applicants must not have held any summer scholarships previously.
  • Candidates must not be holding paid employment or be seeking employment as a tutor during the duration of the scholarship.
  • Applicants must not have begun masters, doctoral, or taught postgraduate program although there are some exceptions.

The New Zealand Law Foundation is offering International Research Fellowship, 2017 to high ability students who wish to pursue a research degree program in New Zealand or abroad.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants who have demonstrated high ability in their chosen field of research are eligible for the International Research Fellowship, 2017.
  • Applications are sought from academics, experienced legal practitioners, judges and government officials.

  • The applicants must not be citizens of New Zealand or Australia. Neither should they be holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
  • They must be either on the verge of completing, or have completed a University Entrance-level qualification that permits entry into a University of Canterbury undergraduate degree program.
  • The completion of the entrance level qualification should have happened on or after 1st January of the year before the year of application.

There are two types of Asia New Zealand Foundation Arts grants, 2017. They are listed below:

  • Contestable arts grants: For art professionals and organizations to contribute to the New Zealanders’ understanding of Asian arts and culture by supporting their projects.
  • Festival/major event fund: They are provided to bring international artists, performers, speakers etc working in an Asian context to take part in the event.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The participating organizations must be based in New Zealand.
  • Applicants of Asia New Zealand Foundation Arts grants, 2017 should be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
  • Organizations and candidates belonging to one of te following categories will be eligible to apply:
    • individual arts professionals
    • local and regional councils
    • festival and major event organizers
    • arts administrators
    • Arts and cultural organizations – galleries, museums, universities, theater companies etc.
  • Candidates belonging to the following categories will be ineligible:
    • Organization/individuals/anyone linked with any organization/individual that has previously received a grant from Asia New Zealand Foundation for 3 years in a row. Festivals are excluded from this condition.
    • Organization/individuals/anyone linked with any organization/individual that has previously received a grant from Asia New Zealand Foundation during the current financial year.
    • Previous grantees who have not reported sufficiently regarding the grant.
    • Amateur artists or organizations that are not professional art organizations.

RMLA Masters Scholarship, 2017 is open to students who wish to pursue Master’s degree at any University in New Zealand or abroad.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants should be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand with an excellent academic record of B+ or above.
  • Graduate students enrolled in a university for Master’s degree are eligible to apply.
  • Undergraduate Honours degree with advanced levels of study and research at Master’s level is also applicable.
  • Applicants of RMLA Masters Scholarship, 2017 with a good record of a research paper at Honours or Masters level or directed study, independent research by dissertation will be preferred.
