Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants of Asian Environmental Journalism Awards (AEJA), 2017 must be citizens or permanent residents of one of the countries in Asia.
  • Applicants must be either professional and citizen journalists, reporters or photojournalists.

The University of Sheffield is offering Dan Walker Journalism Scholarship, 2017 to students commencing a taught postgraduate course in journalism in 2017.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants of Dan Walker Journalism Scholarship, 2017 must either wish to apply or have received an offer of a place for MA Broadcast Journalism or MA Print Journalism at the University.
  • Applicants should be domiciled in the UK/EU and are not charged tuition fee at the international rate.
  • Candidates must not possess qualifications of master’s level or higher.
  • Candidates applying for Dan Walker Journalism Scholarship, 2017 should be self-funding.
  • One or both of the following criteria must be satisfied by the applicants:
  • you are evidently from an under-represented group among the population of institution’s taught masters.
  • Must have received or expect to receive a first class undergraduate degree.

The Department of Journalism Studies is offering two Dan Walker Journalism Scholarships worth £10,000 each. These scholarships are available for UK or European Union students starting a taught postgraduate course in journalism in 2017.

The University of Sheffield is a public research university in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It received its royal charter in 1905 as successor to the University College of Sheffield, which was established in 1897 by the merger of Sheffield Medical School, Firth College and Sheffield Technical School.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing taught the postgraduate course.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of journalism.

International Journalists Program is offering The Middle East Fellowship, 2017 to journalists who wish to spend two months in Germany.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The fellowship is open to all Middle East nationals especially from Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Palestine are preferred.
  • Applicants who are 21 years of age or over and working as a trainee, journalist or regular employee for media are encouraged to apply for The Middle East Fellowship, 2017.
  • The maximum age of the applicant must be 37 years.
  • Applicants are required to be fluent in English.
  • Candidates familiar with German are welcome to apply.

The award will be judged on a 1000 word statement supplied by each candidate that should state which programme you wish to be considered for and should clearly articulate how you meet the scholarship criteria.  The essay title is “What are the key challenges and global trends facing business in your specific regions”.

Candidates must also demonstrate through their ideas, experience and achievements that they are an excellent team player, with a strong vision for the future. Leadership/management skills or potential, overall quality of the application and financial need will also be considered. The successful applicant must also be willing to be Strathclyde ambassadors of the future.
