The TC Beirne School of Law has a proud tradition of providing undergraduate and postgraduate legal education of the highest quality. As part of this commitment, the School is offering students the opportunity to apply for the TC Beirne School of Law Scholarship. This Scholarship will provide assistance to overseas students enrolled or enrolling full-time in the Master of Laws (LLM) or Master of International Law (MICLaw) programs.

What it covers?

The Scholarship will take the form of monetary assistance to help with living expenses for 12 months and will be paid in two instalments – one during Semester 1 and one during Semester 2. Applicants should note that they will be responsible for the payment of all tuition fees associated with their program.

NOTE:

Any offer of a scholarship is made subject to approval of the candidate’s enrolment in the Master of Laws program or Master of International Commercial Law program at The University of Queensland, i.e., Scholarship applicants MUST have completed an ‘International Student Application for Graduate Coursework Studies’ and have received an unconditional offer from The University of Queensland before applying for a Scholarship.A copy of the offer letter should be attached to the scholarship application.

Griffith College Law Scholarship Competition, 2017 is open to students who are interested in pursuing Masters in International Law, International Human Rights Law or International Commercial Law.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants of Griffith College Law Scholarship Competition, 2017 are required to hold or be in the final year of a level 8 Degree in either law or a substantial component of law.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must have secured at least 6.5 IELTS or equivalent.

DAAD offers research grants to young foreign academics and scientists with an opportunity to carry out research and continue their education in Germany. This programme is intended to support doctoral projects in Germany.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be excellently-qualified young academics and scientists who have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma, or in exceptional cases a Bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin their grant-supported research.
  • Applicants must not have graduated any longer than 6 years before the application deadline.
  • If applicant is already working on a PhD degree; then it shouldn’t have started longer than three years previously.
  • Applicants who have been staying in Germany for more than 15 months at the application deadline cannot be considered.
  • Language skills: for the arts, social sciences and law, at least a good knowledge of German is expected. For the natural sciences and engineering, proof of good English language skills may also be accepted if English is spoken at the host institute.

Scope:

  • PhD programmes at a state or state-recognised institution of higher education or a non-university research institute in Germany:

Up to 4 PhD scholarships are available in Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology at the Copenhagen Business School. This three-year PhD programme allows students to conduct research under the supervision of CBS professors, supported by research training courses.

Copenhagen Business School often abbreviated and referred to as CBS, is a public university situated in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

Scholarship Award: A PhD scholarship runs for a period of 3 years, and includes teaching obligations equivalent of ½ year’s work (840 work hours). The scholarships are fully salaried positions, according to the national Danish collective agreement. Ad Astra Academic Scholarships for September 2016 onwards will be awarded on the basis of the academic criteria of 6 H1’s in the first sitting of the Leaving Cert (or A Level equivalent), as well as an online application. The application will consist of a personal statement and a statement of achievement ‘beyond the classroom’.  Achievement ‘beyond the classroom’ could include:

  • Achievement in national competition such as Young Scientist, Maths Olympiad or Debating
  • Evidence of active citizenship or volunteering for example through a Silver or Gold Gaisce Award

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship.

New students who wish to obtain a Master’s or Master-after-Master’s degree at Ghent University.

  • You have to have a Master degree when applying for a Master-after-Master programme.

Nationality: Students have to come from a country on the long list of the OESO-DAC country list.

English language Requirements: To be able to determine the proficiency of someone’s knowledge of Dutch or English, Ghent University uses the Common European Framework Reference for Foreign Languages. How to Apply: You cannot apply yourself. The programme you apply for selects a maximum of 3 top-students.
