The Canon Foundation is offering Canon Research Fellowship, 2017 to highly qualified Japanese and European researchers who wish to conduct research in any field of interest in Europe and Japan respectively.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Canon Research Fellowship, 2017 is open to both highly qualified Japanese and European nationals.
  • Europeans nationals will be pursuing their study in Japan.
  • Japanese citizens will be pursuing their study in Europe.
  • Applicants are free to choose any field of study
  • Candidates do not have to be currently enrolled or employed at the time of application.
  • Candidates applying for Canon Research Fellowship, 2017 must have secured a Ph.D. or Master’s degree no longer than ten years ago.

Documents Required:

  • Applicants will have to submit their research plan.
  • Candidates must receive a confirmation letter from the host institute stating all the arrangements will be available.

After seven successful years in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus program, the European Union has once again recognized the excellence of the CLE Master Course.

The program aims to:

1. foster excellence, quality improvements, innovation, excellence and internationalisation in higher education institutions (HEI);
2. increase the quality and the attractiveness of the European Higher Education Area  and supporting the EU’s external action in the higher education field, by offering full degree scholarships to the best Master students worldwide;
3. improve the level of competences and skills of Master graduates, and in particular the relevance of the Joint Masters for the labour market, through an increased involvement of employers.

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees programs are integrated study programs delivered by consortia of organisations from Programme and Partner Countries. Erasmus+ funds scholarships for students, as well as grants for academics or guest lecturers to teach or research in the Master degree program.

Further Information: The Erasmus Mundus Master Course in European Literary Cultures is a program devoted to improving the quality of European Higher Education Area and strengthening intercultural communication.It is a two-year full-time academic program. At the end of the two-year program, after defending their Master’s thesis before an international committee, CLE students receive two or three diplomas issued by the universities of the consortium where they spent at least one semester.

Eligibility: In order to apply to the CLE Master’s Course, the candidates must:

  1. have an excellent curriculum studiorum
  2. possess a BA-equivalent diploma (180 credits) allowing access to education Bac + 5 (i.e. a « Laurea triennale », a « Licence» or a Bachelor of Arts, etc.)
  3. possess a university diploma on the following subjects: Literature, Language (Linguistic and Language Sciences, Philology), History, Art History
  4. know at least English (minimum level B1) and the language (minimum level B1) of the University of the consortium where they intend to spend their first year in the program

The PhD programme lasts three years, with a start date on 1 November 2017. The scholarships are funded as follows:

  • 5 by the University of Trento, Italy
  • 1 by European Research Academy of Bolzano (EURAC Research).

The scholarship is awarded for three years, subject to satisfactory progress, and is increased by 50% during research periods abroad. The scholarship is adequate to cover living expenses in Trento; no tuition fees are charged.

RESEARCH

Besides the main research strand of the School of International Studies that deals with ‘Integration and disintegration of the European Union’, particular emphasis will be given to research projects on the following subjects:

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates who hold a Master’s Degree in one of the core disciplines of International Studies (mainly, but not limited to, Political Science, Sociology, Law, Economics and Humanities). Candidates who expect to be awarded their Master’s degrees by 31 July 2017 may also apply.

An advanced knowledge of the English Language (C1 level or higher) is required.

The Belmont Forum is a group of high-level council from major funding agencies of global environmental change research and international science councils.
