Eligibility: The University of Wollongong offers a range of HDR degree options for graduates. The doctoral program includes the PhD, PhD (Integrated) and professional doctorate degrees. We also offer the new research training pathway, the Master of Research MRes. The PhD (Integrated) is a four year program comprising one year of coursework (with a qualifying grade) and three years thesis.

Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute (SPRERI) invites applications for the post of Principal Scientist / Chief Scientist (Solar Energy).

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Applicant must hold Post-graduate degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Thermal/Electrical/Renewable Energy or any related areas) with 8-10 years’ experience after M.Tech or
  • Applicant must hold PhD in Science (Physics/Renewable Energy or any related areas) with 5-7 years’ experience

Requirements:

  • SPRERI is seeking young researcher with proven experience in solar energy (solar thermal / solar photo-voltaics) with a significant contribution to R&D programmes as Principal Investigator and team leader with exemplary publications, excellent team work capacity and communication skills.
  • Selected candidate must be able to plan and manage research activities and guide young scientists, flexible with personal initiative and ability to innovate.

Salary: 6.0-8.4 lakhs p.a. (open foe negotiations based on expertise and experience)

MPI of Immunobiology and Epigenetics invites applications for the position of a Scientist, Bioinformatician to start as soon as possible for an initial period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension.

Tasks and Responsibilities of Bioinformatician:

Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Brain Research invites applications for the Scitient position in Neurosciences. The Institute is a research institute focused on understanding the brain.

Duration: 2 years (limited)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • development and implementation of novel optical methods
  • selection and setting up of optical systems
  • theoretical and practical training of institute members
  • support of the scientists during their work on the microscopes

Requirements:

  • applicant must hold Masters, Diploma or higher degree in physics or life sciences
  • applicant must possess excellent knowledge of principles and methods of optics and microscopy (including fluorescence, confocal microscopy, contrast enhancing methods for transmission microscopy, properties of light sources and detectors); extensive experience with commercial microscopes, in particular with confocal laser scanning microscopes; designing, implementing and maintaining optical systems; characterizing optical system and microscopes as well as carrying out quality control on microscopes;
  • applicant must have experience in data analysis (image analysis) in a programming language (preferably Matlab); software for image processing
  • applicant must be fluent in English and German

Desirables:

  • PhD in physics or life sciences
